Bezel Settings

This past weekend I took a 2 day class on bezel setting (Joe Silvera is an amazing metalsmith and a great teacher to learn from!) and suddenly I feel so much more mature as a jeweler! My first attempt was setting this lovely Peruvian Opal, and next a simple piece of turquoise. Now, I'm experimenting with using found objects to set along with cabochons made of recycled / refined / salvaged silver taken from my scrap collection. To give these silver cabochons more precious appeal, I've added some touches of 14k gold.. nice!

Kofi

Kofi. I like that name for a guy, and don't know why.

He's dark like rusticated sterling
and he plays the steel drums
except his drums
aren't steel,
they're copper
like the domes of these earrings
made with tribal appeal.
